Treatise on slavery, humans and God

God is divine, perfect and the only true living Spirit but humans are not perfect. Although, our renewed spirit in Christ Jesus is perfect in His righteousness. History has shown humans grave mistakes, also how they have evolved in correcting some of these ignoble mistakes with reasonable adjustments, even when they are still not 100%. The institutionalized slavery of the past was a regrettable human occurence and wholeheartedly condenmed in its entirety. Nonetheless, the worse form of slavery is actually where ones soul is closed-up or deliberately sealed off from truth and love. This is an open check (cheque) to self-affliction, wickedness and other diabolical tendencies. Thus, regardless of the extent we profess to know God, if we do not harness the power of truth and love in our respective souls, then our faith in God is only a game. This amounts to the scandalous joke of a game where they are bound to be the eventual losers! People from ages, even today and we could bet on this into the future would always abuse whatever is meant for good to bad recourse. For example, atomic energy was meant for good, instead the hearts of men devised an abuse of its use and turned it into the monster that eliminated thousands of people at the click of the fingers on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Banks are set up for good, but some are used for money laundering, dark financial crimes and other dubious activities. Phones are meant for good but some people have turned them against others as devices for world scale scams or to a large extent as monitoring devices. Even the food that is meant for good when taken in the right order has been abused by some to their own peril. Nuclear energy provides up to fifty percent of electricity generation in some developed countries of the world, reduction of carbon emission into the atmosphere (Clean energy), long term energy security and other uses. In the same breath, it is used to produce nuclear warheads that are capable of leveling the whole of humanity when unleashed. We pray against that! The list is almost endless if we are to follow this line of thought, where good purposes could be turned by some to wrong ends.

The fact remains that slavery was immoral, an insult to human psyche and those perpetrators are definitely on the wrong side of history and eternally against the good conscience of humanity. Even till this day, there are still shades of it in different forms like racism, bigotry, sexism, tribal sentiments and other forms of human dark side. What about in some of our traditional institutions in different parts of the world where kings and traditional rulers still own some of their indigenes as slaves? We would not fail to mention some leaders, who have plundered the resources of their countries and left majority of their people in abject poverty and callously below human living standards, which could be equated or worse than the literary context of slavery.

However, with these existing abuses saturating our atmosphere, the human soul has a noble obligation to seek the best and true restoration by embracing our today and the future with hope, dignity, fortitude, and the penchant for good virtues into the veins of humanity in our little sphere of influence and, not bitterness neither living the recount of the ills of history. The great help and freedom any soul deserves is not what society offers us as freedom but is where the life breeding compositions in us are qualified and quantified in real harmony with love, truth, humility, and peace. These are the real substances of free consciousness in the soul, which cuts across and above race, gender, creed and other human ethos. These are the virtues the Holy Scriptures freely, readily ascribes to and gives to humanity to live for and live with by the inflow and outflow of fruitfulness in self-worth. The bitter pills of slavery now colored in systemic racism, prejudice and other forms of human letdowns are always the ugly struggle between the “black and white consciousness,” meaning the perspective values of those of African descent and Caucasians. Notwithstanding, the real solution or uplifting victory over such debacle is for all to learn and teach ourselves to represent the finest of humanity encased in truth, peace, boldness, love, and to resolve in sincerity to share these values as much as we can. Let us choose to sow the seed of goodness into our humanity, one step, one person, one house, one village, always positively moving forward even in the mix of unbearable torns because that is the building fortress of strength over all things.

Let us truly drive this home here, the practice of the faith as we can all attest today, has lots of asterisks on fairness, hope, genuineness, goodwill and other virtues of God in Christ Jesus. However, because of these flaws and the sour points of history, which are reflections of the savage side of humanity against humanity, it becomes the clarion call on us not to fall into the same trap of closed-up vision and negative devotion, but to set our gaze above the pale of human shortcomings and decisively choose to go along with the invitation into the human heart from God to embrace and act at His level. The Holy Bible calls it to walk in His Spirit as new creations in Christ Jesus because of His grace on us that has transformed our hearts and lives into the treasures of His Glory. In other words, overcoming evil with good. On that level, there would be no prejudice, wickedness, butchery and other schemes of evil acting through humans in different forms. Rather, we become the presence and reflectors to the good arrangements of kindness, joy, harmony, humility, integrity, and worthy service to ourselves and society. Thus, individually and collectively, meaning community of good desires, we should nuture the responsibility of cleaning the inside of us first and through this means constitute the freedom from slavery, and then becomes the signpost that shows the good course for our neighbors and humanity to see through and flow towards. Whoever, honestly strives to get to that level of understanding or insight from God is born into the life of true freedom, and would not belittle others nor be belittled in any dialogue or interaction of communal human relationships. This is actually the core message of God through Christ Jesus to all humanity. Salvation is the good news and presence of freedom from all forms of slavery into true human worth and purpose.

God might have used the people of Israel as the channel of conveying His message but that must not be misconstrued to mean, He is of color, neither of one sex, nor made one race superior to the other. These are totally far from the truth. For example, the doors into our houses are channels in but does not mean that is the full extent of the house. Our eyes to see things are channels to visualize our surroundings but does not mean that is the full extent of the whole person. Please, with all due regard, the context of the last statement was not to disrespect the physically blind. The point we are expounding is that there is always a channel to something and to everything. Therefore, it is civil without contradiction to state that the main difference between one race from the other is that of exposure to information and the use of it thereof to productive course and not necessarily the content of the human person.

Creation is the same from God and will remain so into eternity. However, negative perception is the driver and accumulator of human egos that has turned the good purpose of creation in some people or by racial definition against others. This has nothing to do with God nor His Word, which is the Holy Scriptures but on humans. Nevertheless, to courageously change this as we have pointed out, is to wake up to the divine offer by retracing ourselves to our original royalty in the life of truth, peace and love from God in Christ Jesus, who makes us free indeed to enjoy the full benefits of the hidden treasures of His Glory.

God is Great!! God is Good!! God is Truth!! God is Love!! God is Life!!

Resoundingly, we declare, claim and walk continually and graciously in the abundance of His peace, protection, promotion and good health into our lives and families in the mighty name of Christ Jesus.

Amen!

Tell somebody about Jesus!
